Summer '13 Makeup Trend: Matte Fuchsia Lipstick...

In an effort to make Fashion by He even bigger, better and more bad ass, He is going to try out a new guest blogger, a beauty blogger, to bring the ArmHe even more information and tips. Katy from AllintheBlush is going to try out being the FbyHe Beauty Blogger.

Ladies, stash away your oxblood lipsticks because summer is here and that means BRIGHTcolors! According to the bibleVogue, two of the ten spring/summer 2013 makeup trends are: "Colour Focus: Pink" and "Matte Lips." These two trends go together quite well, and when it comes to matte fuchsia lipsticks, there are many great options to choose from.
MAC’s “Candy Yum Yum” is a neon blue-based pink matte finish lipstick. It is one of MAC’s best sellers and a favorite among buyers.

NARS “Schiap” is a semi-matte shocking pink shade.

NARS “Carthage” is a completely matte fuchsia pink shade with blue undertones.

Illamasqua “Eurydice” is a bright fuchsia pink matte finish lipstick.

My personal favorite is NARS “Carthage” because of its completely matte finish and amazing color coverage. I also love the smaller tube of the NARS matte lipsticks because they don’t take up as much room in my purse. This particular color lasts for hours and because of this lipsticks great formula, it doesn’t take much at all to get full even coverage.

Click Read more for steps on how to rock the pink fuchsia lipstick:
Step 1: Exfoliate your lips (sugar scrubs work great!)

Step 2: Put balm on your lips because they will be dry from exfoliating. I use Chanel Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Lip

Step 3: Let the balm dry for a couple minutes then apply the lipstick with a lip brush. I use Estee Lauder’s lip brush #35.

And voila! Make sure to leave the eyes fairly simple when wearing such a bright color on the lips. I used mascara and a tiny bit of smudged eyeliner on the bottom lid. In this photo I am wearing Victoria’s Secret “Muse” lipstick but because this product is discontinued, MAC’s “Carthage” would be the closest match.

What do you think about the pink fuchsia trend? Will you be trying this color out this summer? Let me know in the comments below!
